Most people think of The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, or dare I even say The Moldy Peaches, when they hear the term New York music. Jackpipe violently shakes up the New York musical stereotype, especially with their album Welcome to New York. You will not find one mention of a cardigan sweater or folk lyric in this album. Instead, Jackpipe is the embodiment of your seedy bar of deep fried chicken wings doused with hot sauce and frosted mugs that drip with Coors Light.Read More

Not gonna lie, I experienced one hell of a “oh my god its them” moment while listening to Cellar Darling’s newest album “The Spell”. Stoner and Psychedelic metal has always been a sub genre that I have never really explored. Dabbled in it yes but never really sat down and listened to. But after listening to Gypsy Chief Goliath’s 4th full length album, Masters of Space and Time, I am going to seriously reevaluate my life when it comes to metal. This is good music and it needs to be shared with the world. Good ole fashion stoner inspired rock n roll mixed with a hint of metal and 90’s grunge that transports your mind to a different state and doesn’t let go. With catchy riffs and heart pounding vocals, this is an album you will not want to miss.Read More

Rædsel is a three-member post-rock band from Kassel, Germany. Founded in early 2017, They began recording our debut EP “A Simple Act of Redirection”, in which they heavily focus on the self-reflective retelling of certain patterns during human progression, both individually and socially, while pointing out parallels to natural phenomena.
Bridging a link between these two concepts, they explore the process of self-determined adaption to external conditions by resetting the direction of things in development – hence, “A Simple Act of Redirection”. Their debut EP follows a three-chapter structure – Quicksand, Impetus, Geyser.
Their musical influences besides the obvious ones like god is an astronaut, isis, neurosis and maybeshewill are screamo bands like funeral diner and envy. They also take inspiriation from Videogames (Final Fantasy OST) and Movies (Oldboy, Clint Mansell).
After putting out their debut “Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering “ in 2009, the band quickly became known as one of the most savage bands in the UK. Using things like super punishing breakdowns, guttural vocals, and blazing guitar riffs. After they released "The Architect Of Extinction” in 2015, they seemed to have finally found their sound. With the release of “The Level Above Human”, they definitely have perfected it.
If you have been trying to find a good record in their catalog to get you into their music, this is definitely the place to start.Read More
