For being a debut EP, the production is pretty good. Most debuts aren’t all that special. But you can tell these guys made sure the listener understands, they mean business. I feel like their shining element is how the vocals aren’t like every other death core band. They are super low, yes. But I feel like there’s a little extra grittiness. The mix isn’t too bad. I feel like the high vocals are a little under mixed.
The song structures are simple, slow and low. Each track flows pretty decent. The tempos stay pretty consistent. I’m not too sure of a theme. Being such a short EP, I cant imagine there is a theme through the whole thing. Is that bad? Not at all, Im sure each song has a legitimate topic to it. I personally cant tell.
If you are a fan of basic deathcore, then this album will have tons of replay value. My favorite part is easily how consistent each track is. They are all super low tuned and the BPMs are generally slower than most deathcore. My least favorite might be the high vocals. It’s not that they are bad, they could just use a little more practice. The low vocals are on point though.
Overall, for being a debut EP, Its not too bad. They have a lot of potential to be a heavyweight in the genre. I’d love to see them live one day. I’m all about the slow and low tempo music. I hope to hear more from them in the future.
